Who is Alyson Hannigan?


Alyson Hannigan, plays Willow Rosenberg on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Tuesday nights 8 p.m. EST, WB). She's also known for portraying flutist Michelle in "American Pie" and "American Pie 2." For more info, check out the Alyson Hannigan Biography.

Who is Willow Rosenberg?


Willow Rosenberg is a beloved character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. From her frog fear, to her relationships with Tara and Oz, we've laughed and cried with her over the last six years.

What's the deal with Willow's frog fear?


In a couple of episodes during the second season of Buffy, Willow mentioned that she has a fear of frogs by saying "I have frog fear" and "Frogs, frogs, get them off of me!!" We have no clue why she's so afraid of froggies. It's so odd that it's sorta cute. So we kind of play that up throughout the site. Ya know, do the creative thing.

What is a Hanniganite and how can I become one?


The Hanniganites are just a club of people joined together by our common belief that Aly rocks! We're not some cult or group thinking to take over the world. But we're not just any ordinary club. We're almost like a family, a dysfunctional family. You can apply to become a Hanniganite by going to this recruitment page.

Are the Hanniganites some kind of religious cult or something?


Dude, no way. You're probably thinking that because you've seen words like "almighty" (The Almighty Hanniganite Family or the Almighty Adorable One) or you've read the Hanniganite Prayer. Our club has nothing to do with religion. We're an Alyson Hannigan Fan Club at the core, but we talk about other stuff besides Alyson and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. We're unique because we're a little bit more close-knit than other clubs, at least on our message boards and mailing list. However, we don't exclude any outsiders, and welcome new posters whether they are a Hanniganite or not.

Why is the website named "Frog City?"


Frog City is actually the name of our weekly chat. RavenAmbr, who coined the term, based it on Willow's frog fear on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I thought having the site resemble a city would be a little unique, but also keep the content organized.

Why are there frogs all over the site?


By having a the little froggies around, we are just mocking Willow's frog fear. Of course, we're not saying Alyson has this frog fear b/c we don't know Alyson personally. But this mocking of Willow's frog fear just represents the true essence of this site: spunky fun. We're not being serious! And of course it would be great if one day Alyson visits and sees that she's a base for many creative and imaginative works. But hey, at least we're not being way stalkerish.

I just came to this website and I don't know where to begin. Where should I go first?


Well if you're reading this page, it's a good start. If you've never heard of the Hanniganites before, try visiting the Green House first. If you're a Hanniganite, check out the latest Hanniganite News and other creative works by fellow members. This site is PACKED with stuff, so let the guide ya. I guarantee that you will not see everything in one day (unless you sit in front of you computer staring at this site for 24 hours...please don't! teehee).

Is there a real Frog City?


Nope. The city is fictional. Nick created a map graphic (with streets!) of what he imagined Frog City to look like. Some stuff is fictional (i.e. fanfic, tv shows), which shows what a wacky and wild imagination we have. The nonfictional stuff would be the Aly & Hanni-news, the Aly encounters, and other stuff you could figure out for yourself.

Is this site only for Hanniganite members?


Nope! =) There's no We're-Hanniganites-so-we're-better-than-you crap going on here. We got to know each other, based on the common belief that Aly and Willow rock. But we don't close out the whole world that aren't Hanniganites. And there's nothing against a person not being one either. There are many people at the posting boards and mailing lists that aren't Hanniganites. So this site is for the amusement of Hanniganites, non-Hanniganites, Buffy watchers, non-Buffy watchers, moms, sisters...blahblahbiddyblah. =) You don't even have to be a Hanniganite to contribute! =)

What makes this site different from other Alyson Hannigan fan sites?


Our site is unique (different, but not better than any other site) because we don't focus on Alyson so much. Of course we have Alyson news, bio, links 'n stuff on this site, but that comes with the territory. President Nick hits the mark in saying that Alyson Hannigan is "our base, not our focus. She's why we're together, not what we talk about, especially not in a creepy manner." On the message boards and mailing list, we do not talk about Aly 24/7. We joke around about other stuff. We've had such a great time on the boards that I thought it would be great to share with the world wide web. And it's kinda all thanks to Aly and BTVS.

What about the other Alyson Hannigan fan clubs?


I'll let 'The Almighty Knowledgable One', Jen, answer this..."Hey, Aly deserves a hundred clubs, and America is a free place. But if the burden of running a club becomes too much for you to deal with, there's always room for more devoted Hanniganites!" Alyson does have an official club, called the "We Possess Willow Power", run by fellow Hanniganite Little Willow. She does a great job! =)

Does Alyson Hannigan know about the Hanniganites?


We suspect so for the following reasons:
  1. On February 10, 1999, in the AOL Live Chat, fellow Hanniganite John got his question picked for Aly to answer. In his question, John mentioned that he was from the Hanniganites and wondered if Aly frequents message boards. Aly didn't know that John meant the WB AOL message boards because she said she visits the official BTVS Message Board sometimes. But she also said, "I know about the Hanniganites. I can't say it, either. I can never pronounce it."
  2. Hanniganites that meet Aly at conventions always proudly tell her, "I'm a Hanniganite!" Read Roland and Amy's Aly encounter at a BTVS convention.
  3. Hanni Vice President Karyn told Aly she was a representative for the Hanniganites, shook her hand, handed her letters from the Hanniganites, and brought home an autographed Aly picture (Aly wrote, "Hi Hanniganites!" on it). Read more about this event.
  4. Before fellow Hanniganite Hap took a picture of Aly at a convention, he said to her, "Big smile for the Hanniganites!" and she responded with a HUGE smile. Read more about this event.

Does Aly ever post at the Hanniganites board?


Well, we will never know. Sure, there might've been imposters, but when fellow Hanniganite member, John had his question personally answered by Aly in a Entertainment Asylum chat, she said that she posts at the message board of the OFFICIAL Buffy the Vampire Slayer website. But we never know if she ever stopped by anonymously and checked out our wackiness.

If I get a room at the Hanni House, does that mean I'm a Hanniganite?


Nope. =( Getting a room in the Hanni-house is one of the privileges of being a Hanniganite. So, you kinda have to apply to become a Hanniganite first (click here to do so). Non-members, relatives, dogs, cats...etc. are welcome to stay with us in the house. They can stay with a Hanniganite in his/her room or stay on the luxurious 9th floor, which Nick proclaimed as the Guest Floor. It's like it's own hotel or something. We try not to exclude/ignore anyone, unless you give us reason to (i.e. you're a jackass).
